DESCRIPTION:What echoes through our memories? How do childhood\, dreams and the stories of our families find their way into language? Join us for an intimate afternoon with Otis Mensah\, sharing poetry and conversation over handmade pasta from Dametto and Italian wine. \nA British-born\, Berlin-based writer and interdisciplinary artist\, Otis works between literature and sound. Drawing on a rich lineage of Black musicality\, their poetry explores the body\, family and race. Biblical stories are reimagined through a queer lens\, while memories mingle with dreams. The rhythm of language carries as much meaning as the words themselves. \nAt Dametto\, we gather to listen to Otis’ poems\, share a meal and let the conversation unfold. \nThe reading will be in English. Admission is free\, but places are limited and registration is required via the Davenport Books Linktree (@davenportbooks). This event is part of Lit unterwegs\, a series exploring the places where literature comes to life across Hamburg.
