Tanja Dückers
Tanja Dückers, born in West Berlin in 1968, studied German, Dutch, North American Studies and Art History at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Amsterdam. During her studies, she worked as a news and weather scriptwriter for Deutsche Welle TV in Berlin and as an editorial assistant at various publishing houses. She now lives in Berlin with her family, working as a freelance author and journalist. Tanja Dückers has received numerous awards and grants for her work; in 2006, the German Historical Museum in Berlin named her one of Germany’s 10 most important writers under the age of 40 (and one of “Germany’s 100 Most Creative Minds”). The picture book “Katzenaugen-grüne-Trauben-Blitzer-Glitzer-Geistergrün”, illustrated by Katja Gehrmann, is her first book published by Hanser (2015).
