School Readings
Authors at Hamburg Schools
Readings and writing workshops with authors in Hamburg schools are in high demand and very popular. They enable students to engage directly and vividly with writers, encourage engagement with contemporary literature, and can thus make a significant contribution to developing young people’s motivation to read and write. In cooperation with the Literature Centre e.V., the Authority for School and Vocational Education enables readings and workshops at Hamburg schools. For this programme, an up-to-date online author directory is available here. It contains information about the authors and their offers, as well as the possibility to book readings and workshops.Further Information:
The admission of new authors to the online directory for school readings or workshops is decided by the Literature Centre e.V. in cooperation with the Teacher Training Institute. The following basic requirements must be met for admission: 1. The author must have their primary residence in Hamburg. 2. The author must have at least two independent book publications with a commercial publishing house (no self-publishing, no subsidy publishing, no print-on-demand; publications in anthologies, journal articles, or audio recordings are not sufficient). 3. An application for inclusion in the directory should include a CV and a list of publications. The placement of authors at Hamburg schools as well as advisory support for teachers regarding placements is also provided by the Literature Centre e.V.Contact:
